Brandy Culver, COA

Certified Ophthalmic Assistant

A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, Brandy graduated from UT-Knoxville in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and moved to Memphis. She joined Duncan Eye in December 2010. She has 14 years of experience in ophthalmology and obtained her Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification in 2007. Brandy has been on three medical mission trips to Mexico with the World Cataract Foundation. In her spare time Brandy enjoys traveling with her husband and being outdoors with their two dogs.

Rebecca O’Connell, COA

Certified Ophthalmic Assistant

Rebecca is a native Memphian and attended the University of Memphis. Rebecca joined Duncan Eye in October 2019 with 15 years of experience in both ophthalmology and optometry offices. She has maintained her certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant since 2007. Outside of work Rebecca loves traveling, cooking and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Crystal Donaldson

Front Desk Receptionist

Crystal joined Duncan Eye in June 2023 as our front desk receptionist with over 4 years of experience in the medical field. Born and raised in Middle Tennessee, Crystal has called Memphis home for over 20 years. In May 2020, she received her Associate’s degree of Allied Health Science from Southwest Tennessee Community College. In March 2024, Crystal transferred positions from our receptionist to an ophthalmic assistant. She is currently working toward obtaining her Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification. Crystal enjoys cooking, drawing, and spending time with her husband and 3 daughters.

Shay Flowers

Shay was born and raised in Texas. While attending Shelton State in Alabama, she met and married her husband. In 2009, she and her husband were restationed to Memphis with the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Shay joined Duncan Eye in March 2025 with over 10 years of customer and patient service. Shay is a dedicated baseball mom and her 2 sons #1 fan. When she’s not at work or on the ballfield, she enjoys playing with her dogs and the great outdoors.
